The Planning & Zoning Division assists and serves citizens and developers with the land development process to ensure quality development in Orange Beach. Our division processes applications for site plan review, subdivisions, rezonings, planned unit developments, and variances. Also, our division administers the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations, and Comprehensive Plan.
New rules for Vacation Rentals - 14 days or less:
Ordinance No. 2018-1282 amending Ordinance No. 172, the Zoning Ordinance, Case No. 0209-ZT-18, Vacation Rentals (Sections 2.02, 4.01, 5.27).
Ordinance No. 2018-1283 amending Chapter 50 of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Orange Beach, Alabama, to add a new Article XI, providing for the regulation of vacation rentals in certain residential districts.
Ordinance No. 2018-1284 repealing Ordinance No. 2017-1276, an Ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on the issuance of short-term rental license business licenses.
