Freedom Fest


After the success of the Inaugural Freedom Fest on Oct. 9, 2021 - which came together in less than a month - plans are underway to hold a larger second annual event from Friday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022.

The 2nd Annual Orange Beach Freedom Festival will be held on Friday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022. It will be a true, down-home celebration of America with a car show, concerts, special speakers, arts & crafts, children's activities, food... just an All-American red, white and blue weekend in Orange Beach, Alabama.

Mark your calendar as the planned schedule for Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. will include arts & crafts and food vendors, entertainment, children's activities and a fall edition of Bama Coast Cruisin'.  A Friday night concert is planned at The Wharf Amphitheatre. On Saturday only, The Marshals will hold the 2nd Annual Let Freedom Roar Run and Rally with a motorcycle and Jeep parade around noon, benefitting Youth Reach Gulf Coast. The Marshal group will stage in the Event Center parking lot and in the marina parking lot and lawn. Then on Sunday, Oct. 2, a full afternoon of activities, including a special keynote speaker and benefit concert, is being planned for the Amphitheatre at The Wharf. For vendors interested in participating on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1, please fill out the following form to be placed on the mailing list:  Applications for Crafters & Commercial spaces will be sent out June 1 with a July 22 deadline.  Booth spaces are 10x10 and the cost will be $200 for the two-day event. All vendor fees will benefit the Alabama Chapter of Folds of Honor, which is a nonprofit that helps provide families of fallen and disabled service members educational scholarships. The City of Orange Beach is excited to announce the inaugural Freedom Fest, a Fun Annual Arts Weekend, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 9 at The Wharf.

The event will include 100 artists covering a wide variety of mediums and crafts, local music, food, Kids Zone, charity motorcycle ride and Singing for Scholarships student competition. Commemorative merchandise, such as T-shirts, will also be available. 


  • 9 a.m. - Festival opens, as well as Kids Zone on Main Street
  • 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. - Music Stage - Strictly Rivers 
  • 10 a.m. - Singing for Scholarships competition starts at The Port on Main Street 
  • 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - Tres Amigos     
  • Noon - Marshals' Let Freedom Roar Run and Rally rolls from the Orange Beach Event Center (Registration 10 a.m.-Noon)
  • 12:15 p.m. - Miss Alabama Lauren Bradford, who is from Gulf Shores, will take the stage after the second set      
  • 12:30-2 p.m. - Music Stage - Brown Barnes Band     
  • 2:15-3:45 p.m. - Music Stage - Cole Sitzlar 
  • 4 p.m. - Festival ends 

With the cancellation of the National Shrimp Festival, Mayor Tony Kennon had the city step up and provide a venue for artists and guests who will still be in town that second weekend in October. The community has since also stepped up to provide support for the event. Businesses and organizations that have helped include The Wharf, Flora-Bama, Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism, Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Sports & Events, and Pepsi. Additional sponsors include Beachball Properties, Zeke's Marina-Lynn Swafford, Gulf Coast Rentals, Orange Beach Family Dentistry-Dr. Lauren Lee, Kasey Harris-Brett/Robinson, The Beach Moms, Bailey Stitt-Merrill Lynch, Steward Construction-Darrell Steward, ATA Loss Consulting, Go Time Travel, Advanced Carpet Cleaning & Restoration LLC and Coastal Alabama Insurance.

The event will take place on the west end of The Wharf, adjacent to the movie theater. It will be the same location of Seafood Fest vendors in February.

The music stage will feature Brown Barnes Band, Cole Sitzlar, Tres Amigos and Strickly Rivers. 


First of all, YES! There will be cajun pistols, thanks to Bon Temps PoPoys, which will also serve jambalaya. Other menu items from a variety of vendors will include empanadas, BBQ, burgers and Freedom fries, Hawaiian shaved ice and Acai fruit bowls, just to name a few things. Also, The Wharf's restaurants will be open for everyone to enjoy. The Orange Beach Mako Softball Team will be selling lemonade as a fundraiser as well.


Parking will be on-site at The Wharf. A shuttle system will also run from the Orange Beach Middle / High School parking lot with pickup at the tower, and city shuttles will also run from the Orange Beach Sportsplex. 


On the music stage at the Freedom Festival the following entertainers will perform. Miss Alabama Lauren Bradford, who is from Gulf Shores, will also take the stage around lunchtime.

  • 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - Tres Amigos                
  • 12:30- 2 p.m. - Brown Barnes Band

Freedom Fest 2021 Festival Site Map revised due to The Wharf's commitment to reserve certain parking spaces for the Amphitheatre's Brooks & Dunn concert


The Marshals' Let Freedom Roar Run and Rally is scheduled to roll at noon on October 9th from the Orange Beach Event Center. Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Event Center. The registration fee is $20 per motorcycle/Jeep (all passengers are free). Register on Eventbrite at will be sold for $25 as well. Proceeds will benefit Youth-Reach Gulf Coast, a Christ-centered residential ministry for young men ages 18-22. The motorcycle and Jeep parade will leave from the Event Center parking lot then ride to the Alabama Point Bridge and loop back to the Freedom Fest.

Singing for Scholarships will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9th at The Port at the Wharf, 4724 Main Street.

One contestant from each High School in Baldwin County will be allowed to represent their school. City schools, virtual school, homeschool, and past winners are eligible.

Must be currently enrolled in 9th-12th grades in the 2021-2022 school year.

That same night will include the Brooks & Dunn concert at The Wharf and The Addams Family Musical Comedy dinner theater at 7 p.m. at the Orange Beach Event Center. Find details and ticket information for the Addams Family dinner theater at, and Brooks & Dunn on The Wharf website.

For the Addams Family dinner theatre tickets are $50 each and include dinner and the show. Children under 12 are free but must have a ticket. Performance dates are:
