Private Swimming Lessons
Private Swimming Lessons will be available from mid-July to early August, in a very limited capacity, to anyone seeking individual lessons at the Orange Beach Aquatics Center. Non-Swimmer Parent-Involved (in water parent guidance) and Stroke Development lessons will be offered.
Lessons are held at the parent/guardian's convenience and the convenience of the Aquatic Center's instructors. The child must be at least 2 years old as of January 1, 2020 in order to be enrolled in private lessons.
Non-Swimmer Parent-Involved Private Sessions: Instructors will guide one parent and participant, through each swim lesson from the deck. The parent will be in the water with the participant. Each private session contains four, 30-minute classes, held Monday through Thursday for one week. Make-ups for instructor absence or inclement weather will be on Friday. We strongly suggest the same parent attend each lesson. Limited to one non-swimmer participant per lesson.
Stroke Development Private Sessions: A 25-yard prerequisite swim is required to participate without in-water parent guidance. Instructors will guide each participant (and parent, if needed) through each swim lesson from the deck. Each private session contains four, 30-minute classes, held Monday through Thursday for one week. Make-ups for instructor absence or inclement weather will be on Friday. Two stroke-development swimmers are allowed in one session, but both must be from the same household. (In order to accommodate this, please register one child and contact the Aquatics Center to add the second child.)
Cost of Private Swimming Lessons, either Non-Swimmer Parent-Involved or Stroke Development, is $35 (4 lessons). Registration opens July 6th.
The lessons are held Monday to Thursday. Each lesson is 30 minutes.
