As part of a job-shadowing project on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Caroline, a senior at Gulf Shores High School, made a video in the City of Orange Beach's studio, sharing tips on how to enjoy the city without breaking the bank. City staffer Matt McCrary handled the video editing.
City of Orange Beach municipal offices will be closed Friday, March 30, 2018 in observance of Good Friday. Garbage pickup routes will not be affected and will run as usual.
Municipal offices will reopen on Monday, April 2, for normal business hours.
Anyone who has visited the Alabama Gulf State Park’s public beach accesses in Orange Beach the past two summers has probably seen the colorful turtle signs with handmade wooden boxes at their bases. The words on the boxes say it all: “Need a toy - Take a toy. Have a toy - Leave a toy.”

Rouses Markets announced on Thursday, March 22 that it would be taking over the Winn-Dixie on Perdido Beach Boulevard in Orange Beach.
The announcement comes on the heels of Winn-Dixie's parent company Southeastern Grocers' plans to close locations across the Southeast as it prepares to file for bankruptcy.
