The Orange Beach Adult/Senior Activity Center has announced its July 2019 Excursions and Events.

Leading up to the peak of the beach vacation season during the Fourth of July holiday, traffic relief is always a hot topic in Orange Beach.
Following is a rundown of upcoming road improvement projects, including the widening of Canal Road.
In observance of Independence Day, non-essential city offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4th.
Trash and recycling will not be affected. All routes will run as normal.
Offices will open for normal hours on Friday, July 5th.
The Orange Beach Community Center, in partnership with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, will host a Sea Turtle Lighting Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11th for all distributors, contractors, property management professionals and homeowners’ associations.

An injured juvenile Kemp's ridley, now named Nagini, was rescued on June 4, 2019 by Mike Reynolds and John Butterick of Share the Beach, and released on June 20 around an excited crowd at Shell Beach near Perdido Pass in Orange Beach. Share the Beach, Alabama’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program, was contacted by an angler after Nagini was accidentally hooked.
Following the retirement of Chief Justin Pearce this month, Deputy Chief Mike Kimmerling has been assigned by Mayor Tony Kennon to serve as Interim Fire Chief.
Following a successful June 16th Full Moon Paddle fundraiser, the City of Orange Beach Friends and Family Relay for Life team is gearing up for the July 14th paddle, which will be the last one of the summer.
On Thursday, June 27th, the nonprofit Friends of Army Aviation-Ozark returns to Orange Beach to offer helicopter rides in a vintage Vietnam War-era Bell UH-1 Huey combat helicopter from the helipad near Orange Beach Event Center at The Wharf.
The Orange Beach City Council will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 18th, followed by the Committee of the Whole meeting.
