Annual Christmas tree recycling helps dune restoration on Alabama’s beaches

Orange Beach residents can dispose of live Christmas trees for recycling by placing trees, completely stripped of decorations and tinsel, on their curbs for pickup by Public Works.

In order to be recycled, trees must be stripped of all decorations and they cannot be flocked. Flocked trees are not recyclable and will not be picked up for recycling.

2021 Private Angler Red Snapper Season Closes December 27

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’(ADCNR) Marine Resources Division (MRD) will close the state’s 2021 private angler red snapper fishing season at midnight on Monday, December 27. Alabama’s 2021 federal allocation of red snapper was 1.12 million pounds. Anglers harvested nearly 1 million pounds during the 124-day season.

During the 2021 Christmas holiday in Orange Beach, all non-essential city offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, December 23rd and 24th.

City offices will also be closed starting at noon on Thursday, December 30th and all day on New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31st

For both holiday weeks, the residential trash routes will run as normal.
