In observance of Labor Day, non-essential City of Orange Beach offices will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Trash and recycling will not be affected. All routes will run as normal.

Offices will open, with normal hours, on Tuesday, September 7th.

City of Orange Beach offices are open with normal hours today - Monday, August 30th. 

While city offices are open, some recreation facilities are closed due to inclement weather caused by the remains of Hurricane Ida, which made landfall in southeastern Louisiana on Sunday, August 29th..

In line with Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey's declaration of a State of Emergency due to Hurricane Ida, the City of Orange Beach enacted a local state of emergency – effective on Friday, August 27, 2021 – as a precautionary measure to ensure that any potential recovery needs are met.

The City of Orange Beach continues to monitor updates on Major Hurricane Ida from the National Hurricane Center and our local National Weather Service bureau in Mobile. Ida made landfall at 11:55 a.m. today as a Category 4 Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 150mph over Port Fourchon in southeast Louisiana.

Since starting in July, paving has been ongoing on many city streets as part of the 2021 Roadway Resurfacing project. 

The Orange Beach City Council voted early this summer to award the resurfacing project to Roads Inc. of NWF, which had the lowest bid. The total cost is $436,200 and covers 10 city streets.

The City of Orange Beach is monitoring updates on Hurricane Ida from the National Hurricane Center and our local National Weather Service bureau in Mobile.

Ida is expected to approach the Louisiana coast as a major hurricane (potentially Category 3+) on Sunday night.
