On Fat Tuesday, March 1, 2022, all non-essential City of Orange Beach offices will be closed for the Mardi Gras holiday. Garbage routes will not be affected and will run as usual.

City offices will reopen for normal business hours on Wednesday, March 2nd.

Additionally, due to the Mardi Gras holiday, the March 1st City Council meeting has been moved to Tuesday, March 8th. 

Mardi Gras parades in Orange Beach will begin this Saturday, February 26th with The Mystics of Pleasure, The Marshals, and other local krewes. On Monday, "Moon Pies on Main" rolls at The Wharf, and then the finale will be the city's annual Fat Tuesday parade at 2 p.m.

Alabama will hold its 11th annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, beginning Friday, February 25, 2022 at 12:01 a.m. and ending Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 12 midnight, giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain severe weather preparedness items free of state sales tax.

The Orange Beach Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Monday, February 14th for the regular meeting in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

The City of Orange Beach will observe Arbor Day with the annual tree giveaway on Saturday, February 26 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Trees will be given away in front of the Orange Beach Community Development building at 4101 Orange Beach Blvd.

The Baldwin Pops Band will present the John Allen Memorial Scholarship Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 13th at the Orange Beach Event Center. Doors open at 2 p.m.

The concert is free, courtesy of the City of Orange Beach.

A Valentine’s Poetry Brunch will be held Saturday, February 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach.

A free professional development workshop, “Service Dogs - Awareness for First Responders & Hospitality Services - Reduce your liability risk through education,” utilizing Federal ADA Guidelines will be held Tuesday, February 15 from 3-5 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 17 from 2- 4 p.m. at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach.
