Orange Beach proclaims May 23-30, 2022 as Beach Safety Week as part of BEach SAFE Campaign

As the summer vacation gets ready to kick off Memorial Day weekend, it’s imperative that area residents and guests are aware of and understand the beach flag warning system, rip current safety, and general beach safety tips. As such, the Orange Beach City Council proclaimed the week of May 23-30, 2022 as Beach Safety Week as part of the new BEach SAFE Campaign.

Congratulations to Recruit Class 22-01 for successful completion of the Orange Beach Fire Rescue Residency Firefighter Program! The graduation ceremony was held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Island Church. 

Although the program began with 16, eight recruits were able to receive their Firefighter I and Firefighter II certificates.

Coastal Ballet to present 'Firebird' on May 20-21 at Performing Arts Center

The Coastal Ballet Academy, in cooperation with the City of Orange Beach, will present The Tale of the Firebird on May 20-21 at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center. 

Firebird will be performed at 6 p.m. Friday, May 20th and at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21st. General admission tickets are $25 per adult, $10 for children ages 4-17, and free for children 3 and younger.

2022 National Day of Prayer observance set for Thursday, May 5 at Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach

National Day of Prayer will be observed at noon Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach. Everyone is invited.

Local church pastors will take turns leading the community in prayer on the art center's bayside lawn. 

The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
