Training
The mission of the Training Division is to provide the City of Orange Beach with highly trained, effective, and professional firefighters. Training is one of the single most important functions of the modern fire service. Over the years the fire service has become more mentally challenging and the demand for knowledge by firefighters has steadily increased.
The Training Division consists of three Training Officers and is responsible for the development, delivery, administration, and documentation of training programs. This includes ongoing training and professional development for existing department members and initial training of firefighter recruits. This is achieved by furnishing a disciplined environment conducive to learning and providing professional training and instruction to our students.
Applications for the Orange Beach Fire Rescue Firefighter Internship Program are accepted each year from May to the end of June. The program begins in mid-September and graduation is in mid-December.
