City of Orange Beach 40th Anniversary slideshow (1984-2024)
On August 1, 2024, the City of Orange Beach celebrated its 40th anniversary of incorporation. Combing through archives city staff compiled a photo slideshow covering all four decades of the municipality's existence. The city was a sleepy fishing village from the turn of the 19th century to the 1960s and 1970s when tourism picked up and pressure from neighboring Gulf Shores kicked Orange Beach community residents into action to gain support for the incorporation of the Town of Orange Beach on August 1, 1984.
The slideshow was compiled for a Town Hall meeting held on August 6, 2024 at the Orange Beach Event Center.
