Debris Separation

Debris Separation

  • Please remember to separate debris according to its type- construction debris/furniture, vegetation debris, household hazardous waste, "white" goods/appliances, and electronics
  • Do not dispose of lithium-ion batteries or devices that contain lithium-ion batteries. Information about how to dispose of these batteries is contained here
  • Each type of debris should have its own individual pile and piles should not be mixed.
  • Household garbage is not eligible to be collected with debris and should be placed in a garbage bin for regular service
  • Avoid stacking or placing debris around any type of pole, fire hydrant, mailbox, or storm drain. Debris should not block the public right of way and piles should be placed on the curbside at least 5 feet away from all objects.
  • Demolition and construction items will only be eligible for pickup after a hurricane.
  • Mixing debris types may cause a delay for debris removal crews. Debris types are collected separately and sometimes a few days apart.
