How to register: Many of the regular weekly activities are drop-in, but special events and activities need to be registered for by either calling 251-981-3440, or some activities are available for online registration at orangebeach.activityreg.com.

Blood Pressure Checks

High blood pressure can be a sign of health issues, so please stop by on Wednesday at 9 am to get your blood pressure checked by the Orange Beach Fire Department. Anyone is welcome, and it only takes a couple of minutes and can help you be more aware of your health.

Fitness & Wellness Classes

Staying active as we age is very important for both physical and mental health. Fitness classes are great for any activity level and can be modified for an individual's previous injuries and certain health conditions to allow anyone to benefit from physical activity. Classes are $5 per class and all drop-ins, so no need to pre-register. Classes may be canceled due to instructor availability, please check the schedule or call the Senior Center for more information. 

  • Ageless Grace® – This is a new seated fitness class offering that is designed  to stimulate the five primary functions of the brain along with moving the body.  Stay cognitively fit and vibrant with this timeless fitness class for the body and brain.
  • Sit and Be Fit - Build strength and mobility all while sitting in a chair. This class is a great option for those individuals that may have difficulty standing for long periods of time but still would like the opportunity to exercise and build strength and endurance.
  • Yoga  - A gentle practice that incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower-paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and flexibility. Some classes may have more of a chair focus following similar sequence flows, modified using a chair to allow for less stress on the joints, but chairs can also be used in any yoga class for those uncomfortable going to the ground.

Cards & Games

Card games can help keep the brain active and sharp with math and memory skills, as well as strategic thinking, psychologist and sociologists say. It is also a great opportunity to socialize and strengthen bonds with friends over a little friendly competition. Games are all drop-in, so no need to pre-register.

Arts & Crafts

Arts and Crafts are a great way to keep the brain and hands active. These craft classes are a fun way to introduce a variety of styles and techniques to create unique handmade projects that you can make to use at home or even make and give as gifts. A few different arts and crafts projects are offered each month and change monthly, so there will always be something new to explore. Projects can range from Folded Photo Albums and Wine Bottle Windchimes to Burlap Christmas Trees and Seashell Candle Holders with so much more. Fees will vary by project.
