Pickleball Complex now open
The new Orange Beach Pickleball Complex grand opening and ribbon cutting was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The facility features 14 lighted courts, shade cabanas, restrooms, and a pavilion.
This premier facility positions Orange Beach as a regional destination for one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. The complex will be open to the public with no reservations or membership required, ensuring accessible play opportunities for residents and visitors alike. Indoor Pickleball will still be offered at the Recreation Center.
Court Policies and Rules of Conduct
Court Hours
- Courts are open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Court lights automatically turn off at 10:00 p.m.
- Please note: Lights can be turned on by players between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Find the button mounted below the plaque on the restroom building. Once the button is pushed, the lights will stay on until 10 p.m. The lights will not work outside the hours of 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Court Use
- Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Courts are for pickleball play only. Vehicles, strollers, skateboards, scooters, e-bikes, and non-pickleball sporting equipment are not permitted.
- When all courts are in use, limit play to 30 minutes per game.
- Use the provided paddle saddles to determine the order of play on each court.
- Lessons, leagues, and tournaments are not permitted without prior approval from City administration.
- Tables, chairs, and tents are not allowed on any court surface.
- Paint, chalk, tape, or other adhesive materials are not permitted on court surfaces.
- No food, gum, tobacco products, alcohol, glass containers, or beverages (other than water) are allowed on the courts.
- Unauthorized selling or promotion of products is not permitted.
- Spectators and players waiting to play must remain outside the courts.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult (age 18 or older) while using the courts.
Priority Use
- The City of Orange Beach reserves priority use of the courts for City and/or City-sponsored events, including tournaments, leagues, programs, and clinics.
- Courts may be closed at any time due to weather conditions, safety concerns, maintenance needs, or other operational reasons as determined by staff.
Pickleball Court Rules of Conduct
- To ensure a respectful and enjoyable experience for all patrons:
- Show common courtesy and respect for all players and spectators.
- If the ball is hit onto another court please yell “ball” or “ball on court”.
- Please wait until play is stopped before crossing courts.
- No loitering, fighting, profanity, excessive noise or loud music.
- No littering. Please place trash in the receptacles provided.
- Shirt and tennis or soft soled shoes are required.
- No animals except service animals.
*The City of Orange Beach provides six indoor pickleball courts at the Recreation Center and 14 outdoor courts at the Pickleball Complex.
